When JAWS meet JAWS…

JAWS TRAINING GAME REPORT!

Date: 9th AUG 2009 (SUN)

Venue: Westwood Secondary School

JAWS WHITE 4-3 JAWS BLUE

White scorers: Arie, Shim, Hilmi, Sheik

Blue scorers: Ayat, Ming, Ayyub

As Sumo FC pulled out of the fixture within just 2 hours before the game, JAWS gathered and managed to enjoy a very fun, meaningful and memorable training match. Ayyub and Ismadi took charge of JAWS Blue while Din and Jabar took charge of the other half of JAWS, JAWS White. The 4 Seniors of JAWS decided to took this opportunity to kickstart the team’s pre-season and make full use of it by testing the versatilities of the players. It may just be a training game, however all team members took it seriously as even before the game had started, the taunting had already begun.

The White took charge of the game from the first whistle and soon after, the were rewarded when Arie pounced on a rebound to make it 1-0! However, that brought some seriousness to JAWS Blue as Ayyub’s long ball found Ayat and the latter finished it off with a sweet lob over Jabar! 1-1! Then, JAWS White took control yet again as Hilmi ran half the field and applied a cool finish leaving Is helpless. 2-1! Shim also got onto the scoresheet as he cut the White’s defence like a hot knife through butter and finished the move off by lobing the ball over the keeper! 3-1! Ming managed to pull a goal back for the White with a cracking shot that gave Arie in goal absolutely no chance in hell. 2-3! Half time!

Second half came and the Blues had a changed in a tactical plan to over come the dominating Whites. It certainly seems to work out well (mesti lah faiz manager siolzzx) as the White had countless of chances but it seems that their keeper, Jabar, seems to be well, on fire and managed to even keep out a close range shot from Ayyub. Ayat was not himself as the Blue’s commanding presence in the form of Kiran managed to keep Ayat silence for most part of the game. However, even the best fall down sometimes as Ayyub nutmegged Kiran before rounding up Jabar and slot the ball into the empty net. 3-3! Game On! However, the afternoon heat seems to take on the toll of the White players as most of them are just recovering from either sickness or injuries and thus, are not at their full fitness level. With the Blue’s having players who are fast and has limitless energy in the form of Sheik and Shim, they managed to get the winning goal thru Sheik, whose overlapping run troubles the blues’ fullbacks. With only the keeper to beat and receiving a super high ball (Imagine High-Angle Bonus in GunBound), he cooly lift the ball over the keeper and head it into the empty net! 4-3 to JAWS White the final score!

Although there were no opponents, it was a really unique opportunity for us to play against one another and share a lot of laughter together. With all the smiles and cheeky gestures that we showed while playing, we managed to put a certain seriousness in this training game. Some players like Is and Rusdi said that they ’sayang’ our own players too much to play too rough! All in all, everyone had a fantastic time working ourselves out and perhaps allowed most of us to open up and know one another better! At the end of the game, we took the opportunity to take a team picture that bears a certain uniqueness as we were wearing the 2 different sets of JAWS kit! Til next game, JAWS will be in great spirits as a team to rediscover our winning touch once again! ( I’m very sure of that! )

JAWS White: Jabar, Kiran, Din, Sheik, Shim, Arie, Jie Hou, Shaq, Hilmi

JAWS Blue: Is, Rusdi, Faiz, Ismadi, Im, Darryl, Dicky, Ayyub, Ming, Ayat

Kiran wins JOW!!!

JAWS Tower!

JAWS Tower!

JAWS centreback, Kiran has won his 2nd JOW award! Despite losing the previous game, fellow teamates has voted Kiran as the most outstanding player on the pitch. Kiran was signed by JAWS SC only in April 2009 in a mega transfer deal rumoured to be almost half of Alonso’s recent transfer to the Galacticos. With performances like this, Kiran is proving to be worth the money spent!

On a serious note, Kiran has also become one of the leaders among the younger players and certainly crucial in the ever-growing team in JAWS SC. Hashim came in close being 2nd in this week’s JOW votes.

JAWs valiant Defeat!

Date:2nd August

Venue:Dunearn Sec

Kickoff: 9.20am

Jaws SC 1-3 Kyoto Pte Ltd

Scorer:Shim

Assist:Sham

The sun was shining brightly on an early Sunday morning at Dunearn Sec as players from both sides geared up for a good game of football.JAWs had many2 players out citing family and work commitments. As JAWS players strolled in.it was evident to see that we had new faces making their debuts.Fir and Han Ming and Jie Hao made his debut in midfield partnering Darryl.Formation 4-4-2
1st Half
As the game started, both sides tried to take control of the game but JAWS players did a commendable job in halting Kyoto’s movements.Kyoto’s had trouble in containing our marauding Wingers in Hashim and Sheik.Hashim had a very2 good game troubling their full backs with his runs in the box.Kiran and Zul had a superb !st half in defense.
In the 15th min,Hashim again with a Lung bursting run but was chopped down just before the box.Darryl took the free kick which was well saved by the keeper.Fir and Ming held the forward line very well.Darryl made some exquisite long balls to trouble Kyoto’s defense and in the 19 min,1 of the balls  found Sham who crossed Beckham-like for Hashim to plant a splendid header beyond the keepers reach! 1-0!
But the lead wouldn’t last as Kyoto started to dominate the midfield. In the 28 min,Kyoto’s forward surged in the box and despite Kiran’s desperate lunge and Madi’s fingertips, the forward manage to squeeze a fast shot into goal.1-1!! But Ismadi redeemed himself with a splendid save in th 37 min to keep the scoreline intact.
Half time was greeted with a sigh of relief as Jaws plars started to tire in the blistering sun.We reverted to a 4-5-1 in the 2nd half with Sheik playing lone striker as we wanted to contain the midfield and not tire ouselves out as we had 0!  reserves.
2nd half
2nd half began brillantly as Sheik had three 1-1 situations which brought out the best in Kyoto’s keeper. As we tire,Kyoto scored twice from shots which Madi had no chance to stop. Not holding back,Kiran forced a splendid double save from Kyoto’s keeper towards the end of the game with JAWs throwing caution to the wind and pushing everyone forward.Final score 1-3!!
Even in this defeat,JAWs players commended each other on the effort shown by everyone who played and there was no shame in this defeat. We have a lot of improvement to do in areas of fitness and communication and match temperament. But it was encouraging to see JAWs pushing forward despite sustaining injuires and cramps pertaining during the game.
Starting line up-Ismadi(GK),Sham,Zul(C),Kiran,Hashim,Sheik,Jie Hao,Darryl,Shaq,Han Ming,Fir
Please SMS me (Jabar) with regards to the JOW for this game.

JAWS unlucky against JOGA!

JOGA JUNIORS got revenge against JAWS!

Date: 25 July 2009(Sat)

Venue: Pioneer Secondary School

Kickoff: 3.30pm

JAWS SC 1-2 JOGA JUNIORS

Scorer: Ridhwan

Assist: Rusdi

For the 2nd time for JAWS SC, they have suffered back to back defeats after falling aginst JOGA JUNIORS. 16 players turned up despite with about 4 players pulling out last minute. Pre match talk went well as Ayyub declared to the team that PRE-SEASON STARTS NOW.

Once kickoff, JAWS looked uncomfortable on the ball and seemed always to be second to the ball. JAWS reverted to the normal 4-4-2 formation and hoped to regain the fluidity of the team shown from last 2 weeks. However, Ayyub and Darryl tried to gain some momentum in midfield as JAWS seemed to rush their attack once they got any possession of the ball. Kiran and Chee hui were kept busy as JOGA’s 5 men midfield were allowed to make their passes quite easily into our penalty box on many occasions. Sheik and Rusdi were often left to face off with 2 JOGA’s players on several occasions. Against the run of play, Rusdi’s long punt into JOGA’s penalty area found an intelligent run from Ridhwan and he managed to head the ball over the keeper for his 1st goal for JAWS! 1-0! Suddenly, JOGA seems to get more determination by going a goal behind. Is was forced to tip over a cheeky shot for a corner and the resulting corner allowed JOGA to drew level! 1-1! Soon, Ayyub’s long passes founded Shim clear on goal but the official somehow ruled him out for being offside. JAWS were trying to up their tempo at this point but instead, they fall behind quite unluckily as Kiran seemed to put in a typical tackle but their striker managed to squeeze a tame shot that beat Is. 1-2! Wandy was thrown into the fray to replace Darryl and JAWS finally started to find their rhythm. Ari replaced a subdued Ming at right midfield and shown good pace down the flank. Shaq also replaced Shim at left midfield to offer more support to the midfield. Half time: 1-2.

As soon as the 2nd half started, JAWS showed more intent in finding the equaliser. Shim and Shaq were making constant runs down the left flank but only failed to find any strikers in the box. Ari was particularly lively as his lightning pace allowed him to get the the byline to make crosses. Also for Ari, he failed to make his good work count as he failed to make any good connection with the crosses. Kiran’s clearance up field found Ayat one-on-one with the keeper but he suprisingly put the ball wide of goal as Ming was in the box for him to square the ball to. Ayyub got into the action as he made a good inteception and went past a defender before putting his shot over the bar. Wandy then produced a superb long pass to find the chest of Ayat who brought the ball down beautifully and face the on rushing keeper. However, Ayat went for the placing over the keeper but ended up missing another golden opportunity to draw level for JAWS! JAWS top scorer seems to be suffering a bad spell or perhaps putting too much pressure on himself to deliver for the team. Ayyub had another shot just wide of the left post from outside the penalty area and he looked up into the skies and wondered if today is one of those days for JAWS. Jie Hao replaced Ayyub in centre midfield and Ridhwan took over Ayat later in the 2nd half. Din and Darryl were also did their best in the late stages to find an equaliser. Despite the strong determination showed, JAWS found out that it’s simple not their day as the full time whistle blew.

A strong message for the management people and all the players, it’s PRE-SEASON. We knew we didnt play our best football in this game but we have TIME to improve ourselves. We win as a team and we lose as a team. When we were winning 7 times out of 8 games, we all enjoyed it and everyone deserved credit for that great run. However, we are facing back to back defeats now and we shall shoulder any blame as a team. For JAWS, we will find ways to rectify our mistakes and help one another grow into a team player. Because in JAWS SC, you guys who sweat for the team are OUR PLAYERS and we certainly hope that more of you guys will feel that JAWS SC is your team!

Line up: Is, Kiran(Capt), Chee Hui, Sheik, Rusdi, Ayyub, Darryl, Ming, Shim, Ayat, Ridhwan

Bench: Wandy, Shaq, Ari, Jie Hao, Din

*Note that next week, Ayyub will be away together with Ming,Im,Faiz on Family holiday. So, i need to know if the rest of you guys want to continue have a game next weekend. Please give your feedbacks ASAP by Monday so arrangements can be made. Thanks!
